Small is bored and so Mother suggests he goes to see Granny, but he's a little doubtful, as all she seems to do is knit and sleep! Granny is very pleased that Small has visited and she asks him to help tidy her knitting cupboard. After the tidying they decide to go on an adventure and take a packed lunch.
They reach a strange boulder that Small hasn't noticed before, and Granny moves it aside and reveals a cave. They find pictures that Granny drew when she was a little Clanger and Small is amazed!
Granny tells Small that it used to be her special wishing cave, and Small asks Granny to make a wish. Granny has everything she needs and so the only thing she can think of to wish for is to be a little Clanger again. How will Small make Granny's wish come true?
