Tiny has made a marble chute from copper tree pipes, and she and Small are playing by rolling little pebbles down it. They show Mother in her garden, however she is a bit worried about her flowers: it's a hot day and they are wilting! Major has invented an auto-waterer, but when he tries it out it doesn't work and the garden is still very dry.
Mother Clanger want Tiny and Small to get some watering cans full of water for her garden. Will the pair listen to Mother or have a brilliant idea of their own?
