When Hazel learns that a nearby lake is going to be drained and the owner of a boat rental business will be put out of work, she decides to launch a protest, mainly because of her own sentimental reasons. When she finds out that George is representing the business owner spearheading the construction, she decides to "quit" and go work for a neighbor so she won't cause problems for him with his client.
