Dorothy has to go out of town briefly to take care of an aunt who broke her heel, and while she's gone, George's mother is visiting. Hazel meanwhile, learns that an old seamstress friend of hers is about to lose her business because the building owner where her shop is located passed away. Wanting to help her friend out, Hazel suggests she go to George for help. Appreciative of his help, she repays him by giving him a desk that was supposedly used by Abraham Lincoln.
