Documentary in which Jon Hearach MacDonald journeys through Scotland discovering the secrets of its carved stones, monuments that hold the key to the country's history. These stones are accessible to the public and although in plain sight, the information some of them represent has been all but forgotten. From the Pictish stones of the north east of Scotland, to the carved footprint on the inauguration stone at Dalriada, the site where the ancient kings of Scotland were crowned. There are the forgotten stones that reportedly mark the grave of a mermaid, and the cairn built to the exact height of the Bernera Giant. Jon also explores the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie - an event in Scottish history which has merited a number of memorials peppered throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
