Hosted by Carol Vorderman, celebrities including Dame Maggie Smith, Eddie Redmayne, Ant and Dec, James Corden, Peter Kay, Simon Cowell, Take That and Mary Berry pay tribute to the true stars of the evening; inspiring people, young and old, who all have one thing in common – their acts and achievements are truly extraordinary.
Winners range from a nine year old girl who has battled through more than 500 operations for burns and is now raising £50,000 for charity, an Alzheimer's sufferer who has become a singing internet sensation, the NHS doctor who takes unpaid leave to save lives in war zones and a grief-stricken family whose tireless campaign to change the law on drug driving, paid off. Team GB and Paralympics GB are also honoured.
The inspiring, uplifting and humbling event at the Grosvenor House in London's Park Lane includes children who have battled against extraordinary odds, breath-taking examples of bravery and many surprises.
