Yossarian enlists his friends' help to get him sent home. Meanwhile Milo Minderbinder, recently appointed mess officer, sees the war in a different light: as an opportunity for profit. The men spend a weekend of R&R in the newly liberated city of Rome. On a seemingly easy mission, Clevinger's plane disappears behind a cloud and is never seen again. The men are briefed about their next mission – Bologna – and it looks to be a bad one.
