Убит бывший уголовник. Экспертиза устанавливает: причина смерти – кровопотеря. Жертве был введен препарат, препятствующий свертыванию крови, и нанесено несколько порезов на теле. На зеркале в ванной криминалисты находят надпись "Кара". Следы выводят следствие на бывшего подельника уголовника, но вскоре его обнаруживают мертвым в своей квартире. Почерк убийства тот же самый.
