В сельском рыбхозе из-за производственной аварии гибнет вся рыба. Вскоре в местном пруду вылавливают труп Олега Дерябина, который и стал виновником аварии. Подозревают, что убийство Олега - месть директора рыбхоза, оставшегося без работы. Но чем глубже ФЭС погружается в расследование, тем сложнее и страшнее оказываются обстоятельства этого «рыбного» дела.
