Emma Willis and Nick Grimshaw's design truck pulls up in Swansea at the home of nurse Lombe and scientist Gregory, whose three-bedroom semi is proving a tight squeeze now their adult children have moved back in. The open-plan living is causing family chaos as Gregory is trying to work from home while everyone else watches TV - and with long hours as a frontline care worker, Lombe has nowhere to spend her much-needed downtime. Designer Alex Daulby creates a layout that gives all four the space, tranquillity and storage they need, before everyone gets hands on with the work itself.
