Bei einem Einsatz trifft Polizistin Luise Berg scheinbar überraschend auf den Mörder ihrer vor Jahren getöteten Tochter Merle. Er hat seine Haftstrafe vorzeitig beendet und Luise ahnt, dass der vermeintlich geläuterte Dennis einen Racheplan verfolgt. Weder ihr Ex-Mann noch Polizeichef Tesche nehmen ihre Sorgen ernst. Als sich in Belgien ein grausamer Mord ereignet und Dennis bedrohlich nah an ihre Familie rückt, muss sich Luise ihrer schmerzhaften Vergangenheit stellen.
