Young Nora, her brother and her little sister, take refuge with Rieux who asks Lucie Ferrières, the pianist neighbor on the fifth floor, to take care of them. Without news of Laurence, Rambert wants to leave the city at all costs. Grand tells Rieux that the prefect intends to trigger the second phase of the Darwin plan, with disastrous consequences for the population...
