During a fire in a communal apartment, Tatyana Demidova was found killed and raped. Only her son Mitya can be saved. However, it soon turns out that Tanya was hiding and rented a room using someone else's documents. The investigation establishes her real name - Larisa Guseva. Mitya turns out to be her adopted son Boris Kartashov. Bori's father, the famous TV presenter Anton Kartashov, is involved in the death of Larisa.
