A painful story tells about Nina Petrivna, a native of Zhytomyr, who let her only son go to war. Despite all the hardships of life, she still tries to move on for the sake of her family. Later, the woman learns that her son, volunteer Vasyl Shvydchenko, was captured in the occupied territory. The main character of the STB TV series Mama is forced to go wherever her eyes look in search of her own child, just into the net of the enemy. On her way there will be disappointment, fear and despair. Repeatedly, she will hear a lot of sarcastic censures from others. But will they break a woman's hope for a long-awaited meeting with a child with whom she has lost such an important connection? And will the Mother release her son?
