The stories stars Han Fei, a student of the Confucius school and a prince of the Han Kingdom, traveling back to his homeland. During his stay, he meets up with Zhang Liang, Wei Zhuang, and Zinu. Together, they create Quicksand, a group dedicated to wrestling back control of the Han Kingdom from its top general, Ji Wuye.
