Talar, a wild country, a strange war... Russian television correspondents Olga Shelestova and Nikita Belyaev go out to film advanced positions. On the way back, Olga transfers into the car of fellow journalists in order to be on time for the broadcast, and disappears with them without a trace. Belyaev returned to Moscow alone. Colleagues look at him askance: how did it happen that he survived? Bakhrushin, his boss and Olga's husband, director of the channel's information programs, are forced to trust Belyaev. It has become known that the elusive Taliban leader Akbar was recently secretly filmed. Information came from Paris, and on the eve of the abduction, Olga received a parcel from there, which, among other things, contained a cassette. Then she disappeared. Bakhrushin understands that these events are somehow connected and flies to Talar in search of his wife.
