The protagonists Mike and Burák arrive in the small town of Janovy Lázně after a twelve-month stint behind bars to run a pub that Burák inherited from his uncle. Hot on their heels is a pesky probation officer who is waiting for their first step on the edge of the law to send them back behind bars. The pub is in a state of disrepair, however, and gastronomy is out of the question. And so Mike and Burák slowly start to get acquainted with the competition and potential new friends and lovers...
