Historical western series about the oil boom in the Lüneburg Heath around 1900: The young farmer's daughter Johanna Lambert works as a maid to support her family. Nobody suspects that there is a treasure hidden beneath the Lambert family's forest: oil. Only Richard, the son of the neighbouring farmer Wilhelm Pape, knows about it and dreams of a future together with Johanna. Their forbidden love is put to the test when unscrupulous oil trader Tyler Robertson appears and a bitter battle for power and wealth begins. Wilhelm Pape, driven by greed, does not shy away from any means: betrayal, fraud and the expropriation of the Lamberts drive the village to the edge of the abyss. After the mysterious death of her father, Johanna has to sell the family forest - a momentous step because Wilhelm immediately starts extracting oil there. But Johanna doesn't give up. With unshakable courage, she opposes Wilhelm's intrigues and unites the farmers against his thirst for power. In the midst of violence and hopelessness, Johanna searches for justice and fights for her true love - and for the survival of her village.
